Course Description: Algebra 2 is a College Prep Course
and continues the study of the concepts
introduced in Algebra 1 and Geometry. This course more formally explores
the real number
system, equations and inequalities, functions and graphs, systems
of equations and inequalities,
polynomials, rational expressions, quadratic functions, and polynomial
functions. Problem solving
strategies and applications are introduced throughout the course and
serve to connect algebra
with daily life and higher order thinking. Computers and graphing
calculators are used as aids in
developing algebraic concepts.
Course Objective: Students in this course will be
taught the real number system, equations and
inequalities, functions and graphs, systems of equations and inequalities,
polynomials, rational
expressions, quadratic functions, and polynomial functions.
Course Requirements: Requirements required for successful
completion of the course may
include, but are not limited to, homework and classwork, quizzes and
tests, midterm and
final exams.
Criteria for Assessing Student Performance:
