Physics Honors Syllabus


Course Description: Honors Physics is a course with the emphasis on independent thinking and
problem solving. Honors Physics is designed for the students who want a extra challenge in their
study of Physics. Many of these students plan on furthering their education in a physics or science
related field. Student will work on problem solving and teamwork.

Student Outcomes
The student will be able to:
1. Explain the relationship of matter and energy.
2. Work collaboratively
3. Use varied techniques for problem solving..
4. Use math as a tool of science.
5. Explain Newton’s Laws of Motion.
6. Explain the difference between mass and weight.
7. Interpolate and extrapolate information from graphs
8. Understand how motion enters in to all phases of our world
9. Apply wave dynamics to both sound and light
