This course is designed to give the student entry level skills in
small engines. These skills are generally used in the operation
of a small engine repair shop, mechanics helper and beginning small
engine mechanic.
Students will gain experience with shop safety, hand tools, two and four cycle operation,
small engine disassembly and rebuilding, troubleshooting, oxy-acetylene
and electric arc welding, chain saws and outboard motor servicing. Upon
successful completion of the small engine course, the teacher may recommend
a student move to automotive maintenance, auto mechanics or heating/cooling/plumbing/electrical
speciality shop.
