Course Description: The Hospitality Operations Programs
prepares high school students for entry into the Hospitality Industry
with a comprehension overview of lodging and food service operations.
It combines technical knowledge with an understanding of management
principles and departmental operations.
Course Objective: Students in this course will be
eligible to enter the job market very competitively in a broad spectrum
of hospitality job categories with a greater than average degree of
upward mobility potential.
Course Requirements: Satisfactory completion of course
curriculum, read and complete Housekeeping Management and Security
and Loss Prevention Management, Marketing for Hospitality and Tourism,
senior project, and Community service, as well as classroom work assignments.
Pass the American Hotel Motel Association examination.
Criteria for Assessing Student Performance:
Homework 10% Assignments that are done at home.
Daily Grade 10% Class participation
Quizzes 25% Quiz
Tests 25% Tests
Senior Project 25% that begins in sophomore year
Current Events 5% that are related to the Hospitality industry.
