Our Adult Evening High School program offers New Jersey residents, 17 years of age or older the opportunity to complete their high school requirements on a competency-based program schedule, while maintaining the high standards inherent in the awarding of a high school diploma.
The program is in session from September to May, on a two semester format (September to January and January to May), and is available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Students can be scheduled one or two nights a weeks as requested. Students must enroll by October 15th, for the first semester and between January 1st and February 15th, for the second semester.
An enrollment application from individuals 17 years of age must be accompanied by a Certificate of Consent to Participate signed by a parent or legal guardian.
As part of the enrollment process, all prospective applicants are pre-tested prior to admission into the Adult High School program regardless of credit status. The pre-test is the TABE (Test of Adult basic Education). The pre-test is not pass or fail, it is an assessment testing for program placement purposes. Please note that individuals who passed one or more sections of the HSPT 11 (High School Proficiency Test) or HSPA (High School Proficiency Assessment) may be waived from taking the pre-test at the discretion of the admission committee.
