What is the School Based Youth Services Program(SBYSP)?

The School Based Youth Service Program (SBYS) is a collaborative partnership between the NJ Department of Children and Families and Cape May Technical High School. A lot of schools in NJ have their own SBYS programs. SBYS offers a safe and supportive environment to address the educational, social and emotional needs of our students and families. SBYS provides individual counseling, group counseling, class presentations, prevention programs, family engagement, community outreach, youth development and employment preparation.

The mission of SBYS is to support the wellbeing of every student. Our services encourage social, emotional and physical well-being. We build on our students strengths and support them through advocacy, empowerment and resources. Our program is designed to help youth navigate their adolescent years, finish their education, obtain skills leading to employment or continuing education , and graduate healthy and drug free.
