Free High School Equivalency (HSE)
Free Adult Basic Education (ABE)
Free English as a Second Language (ESL)

These courses are offered by the Cape May County Technical School District FREE OF CHARGE to students 16 years of age and older, who do not have a diploma and are not currently enrolled in high school, and want to improve their reading, writing, science, history, English and math skills.

CASAS Testing
(Required for Free Preparation Classes)

The CASAS test is a free reading and math test. using an online calculator. It is required when starting our free Adult Education and/or free HSE Preparation classes. The CASAS test results are used as a guideline for both the teacher and the student as a baseline for beginning the free programs.

High School Equivalency Preparation (HSE)

We offer free preparation classes for the High School Equivalency (HSE), formerly known as the "GED". The HSE assesses five subject areas including Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. All students entering the program will be given a pre-assessment to determine areas of need.


Adult Basic Education (ABE)

The Adult basic Education (A.B.E.) Program is a fundamental course for adults whose reading, English grammar and math skills are weak. Enrollment in the A.B.E. program will upgrade an adult's basic academic skills so as to assist the adult with: building self confidence, helping children with homework, making applications for job opportunities, maintaining and improving job skills and qualifying for and benefiting from skill training programs.


English as a Second Language - (ESL)

We offer free classes to help learn listening, speaking, reading and writing in English. Free training certification classes are also offered throughout the year.
