I am a full-time CMT student and I want to play a sport CMT offers (ex: basketball, soccer). What school can I play for?

I am a full-time CMT student and I want to play a sport CMT does not offer (ex: football, track). What school can I play for?

You are eligible to play for your sending school district. So, if you live in Lower Township and attend CMT full-time, but want to play football, you can play football for Lower. The principals from CMT and the sending district just have to agree to let you play.

I am a shared-time CMT student and I want to play a sport CMT offers and my sending district offers (ex: basketball, soccer). What school can I play for?

You can choose, but that decision lasts for a full school year. If you choose CMT, you will only be able to play for your sending district during that school year if CMT does not offer a specific sport. See the example below:

  • You are a shared-time student and choose to play a Fall sport for CMT (ex: soccer). You then want to play a Winter sport that is not offered (ex: wrestling). You can play that Winter sport for your sending district. In the Spring, if you then choose to play a sport that CMT offers (ex: baseball), you must play for CMT because you played soccer for CMT in the Fall.

I am a homeschooled student and I want to play high school sports. Can I?

You may participate in high school sports if the local board of education allows it, your parents/guardians are able to demonstrate that you are receiving an academically equivalent education to the local high school, and your parents/guardians are able to prove residency. If you would like to play sports for a high school that services more than one town, like CMT, you would have to be assigned to CMT’s register in the same manner as other students.
